CHAPTER COMMUNICATION 2023: Q3

Greetings Wisconsin Chapter IoPP members, affiliates and supporters! The chapters last event was held on June 21, 2023. Attendance was excellent as we welcomed ~20 attendees for a tour of Mercury Marine’s world class manufacturing facility followed by dinner at a local restaurant.

The pinnacle event of our chapter calendar is coming up next! It’s the annual golf outing, taking place on August 18, 2023 at Royal St Patrick’s in Wrightstown. To date we have 21 teams committed which is 5 off last year’s total of 26 teams. There are a couple teams we’ve reserved space, but there is plenty of space available if you have not committed yet. Hole sponsor-wise, we’re coming in quite a bit lower than last year with 27 committed compared to 53. So you might expect to receive some push from the committee in the next few weeks to shore this up as hole sponsors remain the biggest contributing factor to the success of our outing.

For our Q4 2023 event, we are still considering a technical speaker. While we have penciled in the topic of PFAS in packaging materials and regulations, we have not identified an actual speaker yet. So stay tuned as we work to develop the topic, speaker and define the venue, date and time.

It should be noted we have gained 11 members in Q2 2023! That is the greatest amount of membership gain for a quarter that I can recall. Spread the news and let’s keep the momentum going!

Additionally, I would really like to get a tour of a facility in SE WI area for an upcoming chapter event. If anyone wants to volunteer to host a tour, please reach out. From a timeline perspective, we’re looking now at Q1 2024 and I promise it’ll be less pain than a dentist visit!

I will close with just a couple thoughts:

1. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have ideas for an event or would like to host a tour or would like to get more involved with the chapter leadership.

And

2. If you haven’t committed yet to the golf outing, please strongly consider participating if not by golfing then by being a hole sponsor. It’s a great time, a successful event and all goes to a great cause!

Best Regards, Mike
